जपाकुसुमसंकाशं काश्यपेयं महाद्युतिम्

तमोरिं सर्वपापघ्नं प्रणतोस्मि दिवाकरम्

It should be noted that even though the following diseases can be related to Sun, we should see the position of sun in respective houses, afflictions, debilitation, exaltation, benefic/malefic nature, conjunction with 6^th lord, posited in 6^th house etc. before conclusion.

Positions where Sun is the Karaka (attribute) of Diseases: -

(a)  Sun is in Libra, Capricorn, Aquarius, Taurus  (i.e., its enemy signs)
(b)  Sun is in 6, 8, 12 position
(c)  Sun is posited in the stars owned by Saturn and Venus
(d)  Yoga/Drishti (Conjunction/Aspect) of 6, 8, 12th lords to Sun
(e) Posited in any sign in Mrityubhaga
(f)  Sun is the lord of 6, 8, 12 houses.
(g)  Sun is malefic or posited in malefic house or posited in 6th house as malefic lord.
(h)  Sun is the lord of the house where Gulika/Maandi is posited or Sun conjoins with Gulika/Maandi
(i)  Sun is posited in the 22 Drekkana (from Lagna)

Scorpio / Vrischika	Diseases related to secret parts, bladder, ulcer, uterus  problems, illness to reproductive organs etc.
Sagittarius /  Dhanu	Diseases relating to Thighs / Thigh bones, pain / fracture to thigh bones
Capricorn / Makara	Digestion Problem, Rheumatism, Pain in legs, fracture in legs, skin diseases
Aquarius / Kumbha	Varicose vein, blockage in blood circulation, heart diseases, blood pressure
Pisces / Meena	Fracture in legs, diseases relating to intestines

Since Medical Science has no clue about the occurrence of an ailment due to adverse planetary influences (like Dasa/Antar Dasa/Gocharam etc.) Astrology can help Medical Science in the following: - 

• When adverse planetary influences indicate the occurrence of an ailment at a future date and Medical Science understandably has no clue about it; 
• When a decision needs to be taken whether or not surgical interventions is required;
• Can point out a diseased organ or region in the human body;
• Can suggest treatment methods;
• Can predict the duration of illness etc.

thadhokta roga naaseshu prayaschitha oushadhatmika.

यथा कार्येषु सामग्री दृष्टा अदृष्टो भयान्मिका
तथोक्ता रोग नाशेषु प्रयस्चित औषधात्मिका

Meaning - For every accomplishment/achievements, there are two things.  One is visible to human eyes and another one is not visible - i.e., Visible things - our effort, hard work, medicines, money, tangible assets etc..., Invisible things - Punyam/Prayaschitham/Pujas/Homam/Deva Preeti/Sukrutam etc.

From this we can understand that for accomplishing any thing in the world, there have to be two things.  For eg: - Taking a medicine/treatment for a disease is a visible factor and doing prayaschitha homa (example Mrityunjaya Homam) is an invisible factor (meaning the effect or result of this homam cannot be seen, we can only feel it)
